  1. The Garmin 205 is the old model without TTS (text to speech) which doesn’t speak street names. Garmin 255 is the newer one with TTS. I recommend getting the 255W which is the nuvi 255 with widescreen unless you like the compactness of the 3.5 inch screen.
Some stores like Sears or Target are closing out the 255. They could be had for $50 to $100 if you find them at clearance.
The lastest version is the 265T which includes TTS, traffic, and bluetooth and cost around $160 when discounted in most stores. Check Amazon.com for reviews and prices.

  2. I just bought one and it works great.

In talk mode, it tell you what to do, what lane to be in, what direction to turn and it also instantly re calibrates if you make a wrong turn.

You just have to have the address to be able to use the one I bought (about $105.00 US) with FREE shipping to my front door.

Games, Video, Music, Videos, TTS (text to speech) which speak street names and more.

  3. Garmin is a best gps system, Garmin has a simple controls – simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, has a turn-by-turn voice directions, 2-D or 3-D maps and more feature.

I suggestion a Garmin nuvi in an advance model is a 255W, 265WT for the higher model is a 765T, 775T.

255W: same as 205W but has text-to-speech (you get turn by turn spoken directions with the real names of streets (e.g. “turn left in 50 feet at Nebraska Way”, rather than merely “turn left in 50 feet”)), 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, where am I function, etc.

265WT : has text-to-speech, 4.3-inch diagonal color touchscreen, bluetooth, preloaded Maps with Navteq data of North America + Hawaii + Puerto Rico, free real-time traffic updates from Navteq (for the life of the device), etc.

765T : has text-to-speech, 4.3-Inch diagonal touch screen color display, bluetooth, preloaded with highly detailed City Navigator NT road maps from Navteq for the entire United States + Canada + Puerto Rico, lane assist, free real-time traffic updates from Navteq (for the life of the device), multi-destination routing, where am I function, etc.
